PatternStream System Requirements

PatternStream has been optimized for performance on Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003 Server, XP, and Vista operating system workstations and servers. At an absolute minimum, workstations should have a Intel® Xeon, Xeon Dual, Centrino® or Pentium® 4 or AMD Opteron™, Athlon 64™, or Turion™ processor, 2 GB RAM (4 GB RAM or more for Vista), 300 MB of free hard drive space, and 1280x860 or better resolution screen to install and run FrameMaker or InDesign and PatternStream. Publishing output file size may vary between several MB to several thousand MB and require additional hard drive space. It is also necessary to have FrameMaker version 5.5 or greater, FrameMaker Server 7.0 or greater, InDesign CS2 or CS3, or InDesign CS2 or CS3 Server. Acrobat Distiller 6.0 or greater (included with FrameMaker version 5.5 and greater and FrameMaker Server 7.0 and greater), and Microsoft’s 32 bit ODBC (for database connectivity) installed.

FML recommends using Adobe FrameMaker 8, FrameMaker 8 Server, InDesign CS3, or InDesign CS3 Server.

The PatternStream automated publishing system is a very resource demanding application. Publishing speed is directly dependent on processor speed, bus speed, and the amount of RAM. PatternStream works optimally on XP and Vista operating system workstations with 4 GB RAM or more and the current generation of processor and system bus speed. A 1600x1200 or higher resolution screen enables users to observe full pages without display truncation. It is also advantageous to use Adobe Acrobat 8.0 or greater if PDF output is required.

The application does not include Adobe FrameMaker, FrameMaker Server, InDesign, InDesign Server, or Acrobat, ODBC drivers, or ODBC/SQL compliant databases.
